My name is Kat and I’m a Nashville-based lover of all things booze, food and travel. If it’s fun, I’m there! Due to my location, and of course the impact that Covid has had on travel this year, a large chunk of my content is Tennessee focused. However, I promise to share any and all travels with you guys!
As for being a “dumb blonde,” like the great Dolly Parton, I too am in on the joke. I’m dumb like a fox. This name I chose serves as a sort of double entendres; first I understand I may be misjudged about the extent of my knowledge based on looks alone. And second, as a sales rep of wine and craft beer, when I got my start in this industry I felt so stupid and intimidated by my peers and clients. Thankfully I met my wine mentor who exposed me to the beauty of wine and I fell head-over-heels in love. I want people to feel that same passion for vino and not be scared of judgement or feeling ignorant. Above all, that is my goal for this site.
I’m actively pursuing my WSET Level II certificate in wine and hope to share some of that journey as well. I have a solid background in alcohol, with roots planted firmly in bartending, cutting my teeth managing a brewery and pub, and finally landing on the sales side of operations in distribution. My long term goal is to work for a single winery or small supplier, but for now I’m enjoying the journey. One thing I know for certain is that nothing in this world is ever certain, and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you one drink at a time. Cheers!
